Our Story

Built on Belief.
Driven by Results.

United Charter High Schools was founded with a clear purpose: to give every high school student in Brooklyn access to a rigorous, advanced STEM education in a small, supportive community. Located at 3000 Avenue X in Brooklyn, NY, United Charter High Schools serves students in grades 9 through 12 with a deeply personalized model built around three distinct engineering pathways.

Over the years, United Charter High Schools has grown into a school known not only for academic excellence but also for championship-level athletics and a nurturing culture where staff follow students from 9th grade all the way through graduation. Our dual enrollment partnerships with Monroe University and St. Francis University open college doors before students even receive their diplomas.

Today, United Charter High Schools proudly enrolls 265 students and continues to pursue its mission: preparing graduates for college, career, and a 21st-century economy by fostering critical thinking, creativity, and resilience. Every program and policy at United Charter High Schools is informed by student data and designed to ensure that no scholar is left behind.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Every classroom interaction, every coaching session, and every counseling conversation at United Charter High Schools is guided by these principles.

🎯

Rigor for All

We believe every student, regardless of academic background, deserves access to challenging, high-quality coursework, from AP classes to Project Lead the Way engineering courses.

🤝

Personalized Care

Our small-school model means every student is known by name. Counselors and administrators build relationships with students and families that span all four years of high school.

💡

Critical Thinking

We prepare scholars to ask meaningful questions, explore creative solutions, and demonstrate their learning with confidence, skills that carry them into college and careers.

🏆

Whole-Scholar Growth

Academics and athletics go hand in hand at United Charter High Schools. We celebrate the student who earns an A in Calculus and scores the winning goal, because excellence has no single definition.

How We Teach

A Curriculum Built for
Every Learner

United Charter High Schools combines a STEM-focused, project-based educational model with data-driven instruction and strong social-emotional support. Our curriculum is responsive to student needs and continuously refined using academic growth data collected twice each year, so every scholar receives the targeted support and challenge they need to succeed.

Engineering Pathways

Three Specialized STEM Tracks

Students choose from General Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or Computer Sciences, each designed to build practical skills and content knowledge required for postsecondary success.

Advanced Coursework

AP Classes and Dual Enrollment

We offer AP Seminar, Research, Calculus AB & BC, Computer Science Principles, Computer Science Applications, and Physics, plus dual enrollment with Monroe University and St. Francis University.

Intervention & Support

Targeted Literacy and Math Intervention

Students receive bi-annual academic growth assessments. Based on results, literacy and math intervention is provided, alongside weekly office hours with every teacher and cohort counselors who support two grade levels each.

Daily Advisory

Four-Year SEL and College Readiness

Every United Charter High Schools student attends daily advisory in a small group. Over four years, these sessions build social-emotional learning skills, college and career readiness competencies, and lasting bonds between students and staff.
